Lucy Wayne explains that her professional journey began with her deep-rooted passion for fashion design in High School majoring in Design and textile’s for her HSC which led her to study Fashion Design at university. This foundation opened the door to her career as a Fashion and Personal stylist, where she focused on building a business grounded in confidence, individuality, and inclusivity. She shares that her desire to help women feel empowered through fashion motivated her to specialise in styling women size 14 and above as opposed to her peer’s who focused only on celebrity and size 8-12 clientele. Lucy shares the story of how her styling career began by working with everyday women in retail and styling friend’s and family member’s that evolved into working in the wedding industryto high-profile names, including globally recognised celebrities and public figures such as Katy Perry and Nicole Sealey from Real Housewives of Cheshire.
Lucy also reflects on her time on the film sets of The Great Gatsby, where She fondly remembers walking into the wardrobe department and collaborating with the team to create her ‘Gatsby look’ as one of the ‘Prada Girls ‘and worked directly with Baz Luhrmann.
All of her experience’s have given Lucy the confidence to create the business’s she’s formed today.
Fitness Training and Resuming Studies
Being a dancer from a young age and finding her love for movement again with reformer Pilates, PT session’s with Ben and Rudi, and community group’s inspired Lucy to study fitness full-time while simultaneously growing her personal styling business. Although demanding, she considers this period immensely rewarding because it enabled her to support people not only through appearance but also through physical and mental well-being.
